Projects - South West Victoria Solar Project

December 2012

Portland’s Keppel Prince Engineering launched a new community solar project in South West Victoria in 2012 to help local households install solar photovoltaic systems before the Victorian Government cut their Transitional Feed in Tariff (TFiT) later that year.

Peter Reefman was Keppel Prince's contact at the time, to explain how solar can help lower electricity costs, how best to take advantage of Commonwealth and State subsidies, and why time is limited to access subsidies.  He can also explain the significant advantages of installing your system before the TFiT closed, and what is expected to happen to solar subsidies after that occurred.
Steve Garner, Keppel Prince, General Manager said “we see this as a great opportunity to once again help many local households get their own solar power, while also creating ongoing local employment”.
A financing company representative is available to talk about options for financing solar systems and other household sustainability equipment.
Keppel Prince has approximately installed up to 80 systems before the reduction in the TFiT.
Since beginning to install solar systems in 2011, Keppel Prince has installed approximately 700 systems across Victoria, with over 300 in South West Victoria.
